7.29.140 Determination Of Abandonment

Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, the provisions of this chapter shall be administered and enforced by the Del Norte County Sheriff, who is designated as a Vehicle Abatement Officer, and by the Director of Community Development, acting through the Code Enforcement Officer. In the enforcement of this chapter, any Vehicle Abatement Officer may enter upon private or public property to examine a vehicle or parts thereof, or to obtain information as to the identity of a vehicle, and to cause the removal of a vehicle or part thereof declared by either a Vehicle Abatement Officer or the hearing officer to be a nuisance pursuant to this chapter. The authority granted by this section is limited by the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution relating to search and seizure.
