2.42.10 Creation

There is created and established the fish and game advisory commission of the county of Del Norte. (Ord. 96-08 (part), 1996)

2.42.20 Purpose Of Commission

The commission is established to serve in an advisory capacity to the board of supervisors in all matters concerning fish and game within the county, and on matters affecting fish and game within the county. This commission is to function as "the county fish and wildlife commission," as provided in Section 13103 of the Fish and Game Code. Any expenditure of funds pursuant to Section 13103 of the Fish and Game Code or any commitment of county funds must be authorized by the board of supervisors of the county prior to the expenditure.

2.42.30 Membership Appointment And Term

Membership shall consist of ten members. Each supervisorial district shall provide two members, of which one shall be a profes sional and one shall be a consumer. Each commissioner's term shall be concurrent with the term of the board member who recommended and/or appointed the subject member. All subsequent appointments to fill vacancies shall be ratified by the full board. All members of the commission, regardless of appointment or term, must be residents of Del Norte County and shall serve at the pleasure of the board of supervisors. Any member of the commission may be removed by either of the following:

  1. The chairman of the board of supervisors, subject to approval by the majority of the board.

  2. A majority vote of the board of supervisors.

2.42.40 Officers

The commission shall organize by electing a chair, vice-chair, and a secretary, who shall serve in the positions for one year. Unless otherwise voted by the commission, the vice-chair shall succeed the chair. Officers shall be elected at the first regular meeting of the commission following January 1st of each calendar year.

2.42.50 Meetings

The commission shall hold regular meetings at such time and place as shall be agreed upon by the commission and such other special meetings as shall be required from time to time. Special meetings may be called by the chair of the commission or, in his/her absence, by the vice-chair. All meetings of the commission shall be conducted in an orderly and systematic manner to permit the input of interested parties and the resolution of all matters coming before the commission. The commission is subject to the open meeting requirements of the Ralph M. Brown Act, commencing with Govern ment Code Section 54950.

2.42.60 Quorum

Six members shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business, but a lesser number may adjourn from time to time. Ac tions of the commission shall be by a majority vote of all members present after a quorum has been established. All voted actions of the commission shall be recorded and filed as a permanent record of the commission.

2.42.70 Reports

The commission shall report to the board of supervisors. Written reports of the commission shall be submitted as agenda items for the board of supervisor's consideration.
