2.18.10 Office Created

There is created in and for the county of Del Norte the office of county counsel.

2.18.20 Appointment

The county counsel shall be appointed by the board of supervi sors to serve for the term prescribed by law.

2.18.30 Duties

The duties of the county counsel shall be those duties set forth in Title 3 of the Government Code of the state of California, and such other duties as are prescribed by law or by the board of super visors.

2.18.40 Representation Of The County In Proceedings Under The Lanterman-Petris-Short Act

The Del Norte County board of supervisors hereby designates the county counsel to represent the county of Del Norte in proceed ings under Part 1 (commencing with section 5000) of Division 5 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code.

2.18.50 Commitment Of Persons With Intellectual Disabilities

The Del Norte County board of supervisors hereby delegates to the county counsel the authority to initiate and maintain on behalf of the county of Del Norte any proceedings under Article 2 (com mencing with Section 6500) of Chapter 2 of Division 6 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code.
