Signs identified as "P" or "U" on Table 18.12A shall be modified, erected, installed, or created only in accordance with a duly issued and valid sign permit and any building construction permit or use permit. Sign permits shall be issued only in accordance with the general permit requirements above and the following procedures.

Upon the determination of a complete sign permit application, any required building permits shall be issued separately by the building division prior to construction.

Upon the date of the inspection of the completed sign install ation, construction, or modification, and final issuance of any required building permit, the initial sign permit shall be automatically finaled by the planning division and shall be considered effective from such date. Sign permits for temporary signs shall be subject to the time periods specified in Chapters 18.28 and 18.30.
