18.16.010 Adherence to flight pattern.

Published traffic pattern must be adhered to. (Ord. 924 ' 2 (part), 1977; prior code ' 14- 4.0(a)).

18.16.020 Traffic altitude. Traffic altitude for

airports must be made at least 800 AGL. (Ord. 924 ' 2 (part), 1977; prior code ' 14-4.0(b)).

18.16.030 Turns after takeoff. No turns shall

be made after takeoff until the airport boundary has been reached. A forty-five degree turn should be made for leaving the traffic pattern. (Ord. 924 ' 2 (part), 1977; prior code ' 14- 4.08)).

18.16.040 Flight pattern diagram. The flight

18.16.050 Takeoffs and landings. All takeoffs

and landings shall be made at a safe distance from other aircraft and only on designated runways. (Ord. 924 ' 2 (part), 1977; prior code ' 14-4.1).

18.16.060 Taxiing of aircraft. Aircraft shall be

taxied at all times at a slow and reasonable speed, in a safe manner and under control of a competent aircraft operator. All aircraft operators shall taxi at their own discretion. (Ord. 924 ' 2 (part), 1977; prior code ' 14-4.2).

18.16.070 Engine starting and runups. Engines

shall not be operated in such a position as to constitute a danger to persons or property. (Ord. 924 ' 2 (part), 1977; prior code ' 14-4.3).

18.16.080 Securing of unattended aircraft. No

aircraft shall be unattended on the airport unless properly secured in a tiedown or within a hangar.
Owners of aircraft shall be responsible for damage resulting from failure to comply with this section. (Ord. 924 ' 2 (part), 1977; prior code ' 14-4.4).

18.16.090 Columbia Airport right-of-way.

Aircraft shall yield the right-of-way to firefighting air tankers landing on Runway 35 and taking off on Runway 17 regardless of wind direction.
Extreme caution shall be used when operating near air tankers. (Ord. 924 ' 2 (part), 1977; prior code ' 14-4.5).

18.16.100 Intoxication prohibited. No person

shall be in, or perform any act in connection with the maintenance or operation of, any aircraft when under the influence of intoxicating liquor. (Ord. 924 ' 2 (part), 1977; prior code ' 14-4.6).

18.16.110 Responsibility for disabled aircraft.

Aircraft owners, their agents, and pilots shall be responsible for prompt disposal of disabled aircraft and their parts unless required or directed to delay this action pending an investigation of an accident. (Ord. 924 ' 2 (part), 1977; prior code ' 14-4.7).

18.16.120 Responsibility for damaged property.

Airport property destroyed, injured, or damaged by accident or otherwise shall be paid for by the person responsible for the destruction, injury or damage. (Ord. 924 ' 2 (part), 1977; prior code 14-4.8).
