1.08.010 Violation. Any person violating any of¶
the provisions or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of the ordinances of the county shall be guilty of a misdemeanor unless the violation is made an infraction by ordinance. (Ord. 1086 § 1 (part), 1980: Ord. 576 § 6 (part), 1970: prior code § 15-2,0(A)).
1.08.020 Misdemeanor - Penalty. Except in¶
cases where a different punishment is prescribed by any ordinance of the county, any person convicted of a misdemeanor for violation of an ordinance of the county is punishable by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or by imprisonment not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. 1.08.030 Infraction - Penalty. Any person¶
convicted of an infraction for violation of an ordinance of the county is punishable by a fine as outlined in California Government Code, Section 25132. Pursuant to California Government Code, Section 25132(f), the County may grant a hardship waiver to reduce the amount of an administrative fine upon a showing by the responsible party that the responsible party has made a bona fide effort to comply after the first violation, and that payment of the full amount of the fine would impose an undue financial burden on the responsible party. 1.08.040 Separate offense. Each such person¶
shall be guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any provision of the ordinances of the county is committed, continued or permitted by any such person, and he/she shall be punishable accordingly. 1.08.050 Vehicle Code violations. The¶
penalties provided for in this chapter shall not apply to a violation of an ordinance adopted pursuant to the Vehicle Code of California. (Ord. 1086 § 1 (part), 1980: Ord. 576 § 6 (part), 1970: prior code § 15-2.0(E)).
