Chapter 1 — DANGEROUS OR DEADLY WEAPONS

4-2000 - DEFINITION.
"Dangerous or deadly weapon" includes, but is not limited to: any dirk or dagger; any knife with a blade three (3) inches or more in length, and any snap-blade or spring-blade knife regardless of the length of the blade; any ice pick or similar sharp stabbing tool; and straightedge razor or any razor blade fitted to a
handle; any dangerous or deadly weapon within the meaning of any law of this State restricting the use thereof; and any cutting, stabbing, or bludgeoning weapon or device capable of inflicting grievous bodily harm; and any firearm other than
(1)
A firearm carried pursuant to a valid permit, issued by a duly authorized governmental authority, or
(2)
Any ordinary rifle or shotgun lawfully carried for purposes of hunting or other lawful sport.

4-2001 - CONCEALED WEAPON: LOITERING.
No person, while carrying concealed upon his person any dangerous or deadly weapon, shall loaf or loiter upon any public street, sidewalk or alley or wander about from place to place without any lawful business or hide, lurk, or loiter upon or about the premises of another.

4-2002 - CONCEALED WEAPON: DISORDERLY CONDUCT.
No person who has concealed upon his person or who has in his immediate physical possession any dangerous or deadly weapon shall engage in any fight or participate in any other rough or disorderly conduct upon any public place or way or upon the premises of another.

4-2003 - CONCEALED WEAPON: LOITERING AT PLACES OF PUBLIC RESORT.
No person who has concealed upon his person any dangerous or deadly weapon shall loiter about any place where intoxicating liquors are sold or any other place of public resort.

4-2004 - CONCEALED WEAPON: AT SCHOOL GROUNDS.
No person who has concealed upon his person or who has in his immediate physical possession any dangerous or deadly weapon shall be upon or about any school, school yard, playground, or public place at or near which school children attend.

4-2005 - WEAPONS IN AUTOS.
No person shall have in his possession, in any automobile, any dangerous or deadly weapon, but this restriction shall not be deemed to prohibit the carrying of ordinary tools or equipment carried in good faith for uses of honest work, trade, or business or for the purposes of legitimate sport or recreation.

4-2006 - SALE OF KNIVES.
No person shall sell, furnish, or give away or cause to be sold, furnished, or given away any snap-blade or spring-blade knife.
