2.82.10 - Acquisition of interest in real property.

Pursuant to Government Code section 25350.60, the chief general services officer and director of public works are authorized to perform any or all acts necessary to approve and accept for the county any purchase of an interest in real property provided that:

  1. The purchase price of any such interest shall be limited to two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00);

  2. The chief general services officer and director of public works shall provide to the board of supervisors a report of purchases made pursuant to this section at least once per year; and

  3. For purchases greater than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00), a notice of intention to purchase the property interest shall be published pursuant to Government Code section 6063. The notice shall contain a description of the property proposed to be purchased, the price, the vendor, and a statement of the time the purchase will be consummated. Nothing contained in this section shall be deemed to preclude the settlement of an action in eminent domain or the acquisition of any real property or interest therein for the uses and purposes of county highways without compliance with these notice requirements.
