Kern County Municipal Code Ch. 2.36 Building Inspection Department

A. The term "building inspection department" as used throughout this code shall mean and refer to the building inspection division of the public works department. The director of the public works department or his/her designee shall exercise the authority and perform the duties provided by law for the director of building inspection of the county and may delegate such authority to employees of the public works department to administer and implement of the functions of his/her office.

B. The building inspection department shall administer and enforce all of the provisions of Title 17 of this Code; California Health and Safety Code Chapter 2, Part 3, Division 13; and all other ordinances, codes, and statutes heretofore or hereafter delegated to it for such purposes.
