2.30.010 - Members.

There is a planning commission in the county. The planning commission shall consist of five (5) members, who shall be appointed by the board of supervisors and serve for a two (2) year term, except that the first appointment nominated by the supervisors from the second and the third supervisorial districts shall each serve for a one (1) year term, and thereafter nominees from those districts shall serve for two (2) year terms.

2.30.020 - Organization.

Immediately upon the appointment of the members of the planning commission, or within a reasonable time thereafter, the members shall hold an organizational meeting in order to elect a chairman. The members of the planning commission shall also adopt such rules and regulations as they deem necessary and proper to conduct the business of the planning commission.

2.30.030 - Personnel.

The director of the planning and natural resources department shall furnish the planning commission with such clerical, administrative, and other personnel deemed necessary in order to perform the duties of the planning commission. The planning director or his designated representative shall attend the meetings of the planning commission in the capacity of administrative advisor and executive secretary of the commission.

2.30.040 - Compensation.

Each member of the planning commission and the county counsel, or his/her designated deputy, shall receive compensation in the amount of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for each meeting attended.

2.30.050 - Reimbursement of travel expenses.

Members of the planning commission shall be reimbursed for expenses actually and necessarily incurred in travel to and from the place of meeting of the commission and while traveling on the business of the commission. Such travel expenses shall include the cost of transportation, meals, lodging, and other incidental items, and transportation by private automobile pursuant to the rates and per diem expenses allowed county offices and employees on similar business.
