2.39.010 - Established.

The division of information technology services is established as a division of the county administrative office.

2.39.020 - Chief information technology officer—Powers and duties.

The division of information support services shall be in the charge of and administered by the chief information technology officer, who shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the chief administrative officer. The chief information technology officer shall, subject to the civil service system of the county, employ such assistants and/or employees as are from time to time provided for the department by the ordinances of the county.

2.39.030 - Existing directives in force.

All existing directives and instructions which are applicable to the director of information systems or the director of data processing or the respective former divisions of department of general services, shall be applicable to and binding upon the chief information technology officer or the division of information technology services.

2.39.040 - Functions.

The functions and responsibilities of the division shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

A. Arrangement for operation and installation of telephone systems;

B. Administration of the activities and policies of automated data processing, including systems and programming;

C. Provide consultation to appointive department heads and elected officials for setting controls on data to be processed, establishment of workflow schedules, and maintenance of sufficient controls for such audits as are deemed necessary;

D. Conduct research and analysis of automated data processing systems, and provide support and assistance to county departments in the effective application of information systems and technology;

E. Perform such other duties as from time to time may be prescribed by the chief administrative officer or the board.
