2.32.010 - Established—Membership—Powers and duties.¶
There is established the Kern County board of building appeals composed of five (5) voting members. The director of the development services agency or his designee shall act as secretary of the board. Four (4) of the members of the board shall be qualified by training and experience in building construction or the building trades. The fifth member shall be a member at large. All five (5) members shall be appointed by, and serve terms not to exceed four (4) years, at the pleasure of the board of supervisors. As soon as practical after the appointment of its membership and the board is constituted, the board shall meet and organize. Thereafter, the board shall have the powers granted, and shall assume the responsibilities and functions imposed, by the code of building regulations upon a board of appeals, except for appeals taken under the Kern County housing code.
