Station outlets and inlets shall be identified as to the name or chemical symbol for the specific medical gas or vacuum provided and shall include the following:
(1) Name of the gas or vacuum system or the chemical symbol in accordance with Table 1305.1
(2) Gas or vacuum system color code in accordance with Table 1305.1
In sleep labs, where the outlet is downstream of a flow control device, the station outlet identification shall include a warning not to use the outlet for ventilating patients.
Where medical gas systems operate at pressures other than the standard gauge pressure of 50 psi to 55 psi (345 kPa to 380 kPa) or a gauge pressure of 160 psi to 185 psi (1103 kPa to 1275 kPa) for nitrogen, the station outlet identification shall include the nonstandard operating pressure in addition to the name of the gas.
