Tubes shall be hard-drawn seamless copper in accordance with ASTM B819, medical gas tube, Type L, except Type K shall be used where operating pressures are above a gauge pressure of 185 psi (1276 kPa) and the pipe sizes are larger than DN80 [(NPS 3) (3 1/8 inches O.D.)]. {NFPA 99:5.1.10.1.4}
