Chapter 2 — CONDUCT OF BOARD AND OFFICE BUSINESS
Article 3 — Consolidation of Offices

Sec. 2-2.301. - Certain offices consolidated.¶
(1)
Pursuant to the authority conferred by the provisions of Section 24300 of the California Government Code, the following offices shall be consolidated:
(a)
Tax Collector and Treasurer; and
(b)
Sheriff and Coroner.
(2)
Pursuant to the authority conferred by the provisions of Section 24304 of the California Government Code, the following offices shall be consolidated:
(a)
Interim Consolidation of Assessor and Recorder Office.
(i)
Pursuant to the authority conferred by the provisions of Section 24301 of the California Government Code, the duties of the Recorder shall be completely separated from the duties of the Auditor, effective 12:00 noon, February 18, 2010, and all the duties of the Recorder shall be performed by a single elected County Officer, who shall be elected as Assessor and Recorder at the next election as set forth in Ordinance number 09-13.
(ii)
Pursuant to the authority conferred by the provisions of Government Code Section 24304, the following offices shall be consolidated:
a.
Assessor and Recorder.
(iii)
Pursuant to the authority conferred by the provisions of Section 24301 of the California Government code, the duties of the Recorder shall be completely separated from the duties of the Auditor, effective 12 noon [on] January 3, 2011, and all duties of the Recorder shall be performed by a single elected county officer who shall be elected as Assessor and Recorder at the next election for the four-year term commencing at 12 noon on January 3, 2011. The Board of Supervisors finds, determines and declares that such separation or reconsolidation is in the public interest.
(3)
Pursuant to the authority conferred by provisions in Section 24011 of the Government Code, the following offices shall be consolidated:
(a)
Public Administrator and Public Guardian/Conservator.
