Article 12 — Ambulance Service Areas

Sec. 3-15.12.01. - Establishment.¶

The Board of Supervisors may establish ambulance service areas. Such ambulance service areas may be nonexclusive or the Board of Supervisors may recommend that the local EMS agency establish certain exclusive operation areas (EOAs) pursuant to the provisions of Division 2.5 of the California Health and Safety Code. All EMS provider services in such service areas shall be formally established through written agreements with the local EMS Agency. No service area shall be designated as an EOA without fulfilling the requirements of California Health and Safety Code Section 1797.224.
