Marin County Municipal Code Ch. 2.88 Map Reproduction

This chapter is adopted for the purpose of establishing a procedure whereby the county assessor's official maps, which qualify as public records open to public inspection, can be reproduced and made available to the public without expense and loss of time to the county, and with a minimum of cost to the public.

This chapter shall apply to any person, partnership, association, business, corporation or governmental agency submitting an order to the county assessor, requesting the reproduction of any county assessor's official map produced pursuant to the established assessor's map system authorized by Revenue and Taxation Code Section 327.

A basic service charge of five dollars shall be made on each order for eleven inches by seventeen inches hard copies of official assessor's maps. However, all governmental taxing agencies in the county which utilize the services of the county assessor shall, upon written request receive one free copy annually of any official assessor's map covered by this chapter revised during the preceding assessment roll year. Any additional copies of assessor's maps may be obtained by governmental agencies at four dollars each.

The board of supervisors finds and determines costs set forth in Section 2.88.030 of this chapter, the reasonable costs of compiling, preparing, organizing and reproducing the records specified therein.

A basic service charge of one hundred fifty dollars shall be made on each request to perform a lot split, combination and/or merger.

The board of supervisors finds and determines costs set forth in Section 2.88.036 of this chapter, the reasonable costs of compiling, preparing, organizing and performing the action specified therein.

All payments required hereunder shall be made in cash or to the order of the county and deposited with the county assessor. All reproduction charges shall be paid on or before delivery of any reproductions.

Orders requesting reproduction of official county assessor's maps pursuant to this chapter shall be filed in writing at the county assessor's office not later than Tuesday for distribution on the following Thursday, and not later than Thursday for distribution on the following Tuesday. Distribution shall be made over the counter at the county assessor's office.
