2.29.010 - Public guardian—Office created—Duties.

There is created the office of public guardian to perform the duties imposed upon that office by law. The office shall be filled by appointment of the board of supervisors at a salary to be set by resolution of the board.

2.29.020 - Deposit and disbursement of funds.

All funds coming into the custody of the public guardian shall be deposited in an insured bank or invested in one or more insured savings and loan associations or deposited in the county treasury and dispersed only by proper warrant.

2.29.030 - Advances for expenses.

The necessary expenses for the public guardian in the conduct of any guardianship estate shall be advanced by the county and shall be a county charge. The county shall be reimbursed therefor out of any funds or property of the estate by the public guardian.

2.29.040 - Collection of fees and cost reimbursement.

The public guardian, when acting as representative payee for any eligible Marin County resident, is authorized to apply for, receive and collect such fees and/or reimbursement for costs incurred as may be allowed by the Social Security Administration, the Veterans' Administration, or such other income, service and benefit provider.
