Chapter 3 — SALVAGE BUSINESSES

Sec. 6-3.01. - Permit required for salvage businesses.

It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business of, or buy, distribute or otherwise deal in, scrap iron, storage batteries, used auto parts or any other metals or materials for salvage purposes without first having obtained from the Sheriff-Coroner a written permit so to do.

Sec. 6-3.02. - Issuance of permit.

The Sheriff-Coroner shall issue permits to any responsible person to engage in the business of buying, distributing or otherwise dealing in or transporting on any public highway any scrap iron, storage batteries, used auto parts or other metals or materials for salvage purposes, requiring each permittee to give such information in writing to the Sheriff-Coroner as he may require in his discretion.

Sec. 6-3.03. - Violation of chapter.

Any person who engages in the business of buying, selling or otherwise dealing in scrap iron, storage batteries, used auto parts or other metals or materials for salvage purposes in the County without first having applied for and obtained the permit required by the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
