San Ramon Municipal Code Art. 4 Individual and Employee Rights

Each employee of the city of San Ramon, except elected officials shall have the following rights: A. The right to form, join, and participate in the activities of employee organizations of his/her own choosing for the purpose of representation on all matters of employee relations. B. The right to refuse to join or participate in the activities of employee organizations. Employees who do not join an employee organization may represent themselves individually in matters of employer-employee relations.

C. No employee shall be interfered with, intimidated, restrained, coerced, or discriminated against because of exercising these employee rights, nor shall any employee or group of employees or organization follow any other procedure other than those set forth in this division on matters pertaining to employer-employee relations. Nothing in this division shall be construed to restrict or in any way modify the right of an individual employee to present matters involving his/her employment relationship to the appropriate level. (Ord. 246 § 1 (part), 1993)

Nothing contained herein shall be deemed to modify or abrogate existing rights and responsibilities of the city, or its employees or employee organizations, to the extent they are governed by law. Any part or section of this division found to be contrary to existing law by any court of proper jurisdiction the remainder shall not be affected thereby. (Ord. 246 § 1 (part), 1993)
