B8-41. - Definitions.

As used in this chapter, the terms "residence district," "business district" and "vehicles" are as defined in the Vehicle Code of the state.

B8-42. - Applicability.

The speed regulations set out in this chapter shall not apply where and at times when and during which traffic is under the immediate supervision and control of a traffic officer. (Prior code § B9-28)

B8-43. - Signposting.

Speed restriction signs of the type and description designated in the Vehicle Code of the state shall be erected at such locations required by said Vehicle Code under the supervision and direction of the engineering services director (or designee). B8-44. - Speed limit designated.

Except as otherwise provided by this chapter, no person shall drive a vehicle on or along a highway located within a residence or business district at a speed greater than twenty-five miles per hour. (Ord. 168 § 2, 1989)

B8-45. - Increase in speed limits.

A. Thirty Miles Per Hour. The City Council does, upon the basis of an Engineering and Traffic Investigation and after Public Hearing, determine and declare that the orderly movement of vehicular traffic would be facilitated and would be safe within the hereinafter described residence or business district by increasing the prima facie limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour. B. Thirty-Five Miles Per Hour. E. Fifty Miles Per Hour.
