2.100.160 - Applicability of chapter provisions—Fringe benefits.¶
A. Except as otherwise provided, this article applies to all employees in the classified service and to all employees in the nonclassified service, except elected nonclassified employees.
B. The fringe benefits provided to management and nonclassified employees, except elected nonclassified employees, shall be those provided to employees by reason of the Memorandum of Understanding between the county and the Public Services Unit of Employees. For this purpose, "fringe benefits" means and includes:
Sick leave;
Pregnancy leave;
Timekeeping;
On-the-job injury;
Miscellaneous leaves of absence with pay;
Leave of absence without pay;
Absence due to death or critical illness in family;
Vacation;
Holidays;
Professional education/training leave.
C. The nature and scope of the fringe benefits listed in subsection (B) shall be as described in corresponding articles of the current Memorandum of Understanding between the county and the Public Services Unit of Employees.
D. It is now, and shall be, the general policy of the county to accord management employees, including department heads and confidential employees, the same salary and fringe benefit adjustments it accords represented employees.
E. If this chapter conflicts with a memorandum of understanding applicable to a particular class or category of employee, then the memorandum of understanding shall prevail.
