12.44.310 - Purpose.

This Article is enacted for the purpose of adopting the provisions of the Vehicle Code of the State of California in a manner provided in Section 21107.6 of said Vehicle Code for the control of vehicular traffic on private roads serving commercial establishments at various intersections.

12.44.320 - Application of Vehicle Code.

There are privately owned and maintained roads described in Section 12.44.330 that are generally held open to the public for the purpose of vehicular travel to serve commercial establishments.

12.44.330 - Roads affected.

The following roads are affected by this Article, and the provisions of the Vehicle Code shall apply to such roads:

A. Via Nona Marie, between Rio Road and Clock Tower Place.

B. Clock Tower Place, between Carmel Rancho Boulevard and Via Nona Marie.

12.44.340 - Signs.

The provisions of the Vehicle Code shall not apply to any road described in Section 12.44.330 where the owner has caused to be erected a notice of such size, shape, and color as to be readily legible during daylight hours from a distance of one hundred (100) feet, to the effect that the road is privately owned and maintained and that it is not subject to public traffic regulations and control.

12.44.350 - Penalty for violation.

Every person who violates any provision of this Article (V) is guilty of an infraction or a misdemeanor, as the case may be, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished in the manner specified in Section 42001 of the California Vehicle Code.
