12.24.010 - Through highways designated.

The following highways are through highways, and all vehicles shall stop before entering or crossing the same, and the Director of Transportation of the County of Monterey is directed to erect and maintain appropriate stop signs at all entrances thereto:

Abbott Street, from State Highway 101 generally northwesterly to the city limits of the City of Salinas;

Aguajito Road, from the city limits of the city of Monterey generally south and west to State Highway 1;

Alisal Road, from the city limits of Salinas to Old Stage Road;

Apple Avenue, near Greenfield, from its terminus west of Thirteenth Street, generally east to the limits of the City of Greenfield;

Arroyo Seco Road, from State Highway 101 generally southwest to its terminal at Abbott Lakes, except at Paraiso Springs Road;

Alta Street, from the northerly boundary of the City of Gonzales northerly to its northerly terminus with U.S. Highway 101;

Aromas Road, from Carpenteria Road westerly to San Juan Road;

Atherton Drive, in Hatton Fields, from Rio Road generally northeast to State Highway 1;

Bitterwater Road, from the city limits of King City generally northeast to the San Benito County boundary;

Blackie Road, from State Highway 183 generally east to State Highway 101;

Blanco Road, from Reservation Road generally northeasterly to the city limits of the City of Salinas;

Boronda Road, from its terminus at the southern end generally north to Virginia Avenue;

Bradley Road, near Bradley, from its south end at State Highway 101 generally northwest to its north end at State Highway 101;

Calle del Adobe, from Boronda Road generally east to, but not including, Post Drive;

Camino Del Monte, in Carmel Woods, from the city limits of the City of Carmel-by-the-Sea generally north to Serra Avenue;

Carmel Valley Road, from State Highway 1 easterly to Arroyo Seco Road;

Carmelo Street, from Scenic Road Easterly to the Carmel city limits;

Carpenteria Road, from the Aromas Tri-County Bridge southerly to San Juan Road, except as its intersection with Blohm Avenue;

Carpenter Street, from the northwesterly limits of the City of Carmel-by-the-Sea, northwesterly to its intersection with State Highway 1;

Castro Street, in Castroville, from Blackie Road generally northwest to Wood Street;

Castroville Boulevard, from State Route 156 northeasterly to San Miguel Canyon Road;

Cattlemen Road, from Wildhorse Road generally southeast to its terminus at U.S. Highway 101 south of San Ardo;

Central Avenue, in Supervisorial District No. 3 from U.S. Highway 101 at Thompson's Gulch to Elm Avenue;

Charter Oak Boulevard, from Cocklebur Court to its easterly intersection with Oak Hills Drive, with the exception of its intersection with Cathedral Oak Road;

Chualar Road, from its intersection with Old Stage Road, generally southwest and continuing into its prolongation as Payson Street, in Chualar, to its terminal intersection with Grant Street, in Chualar;

Cornwall Street, in Bolsa Knolls, from San Juan Grade Road generally north to Bellinzona Avenue;

Cooper Road, from Blanco Road northerly to State Highway 183, near Cooper Switch;

Cooper Street, in Castroville, from Merritt Street generally northeast to Linda Vista Place, except at Geil Street and Seymour Street;

Corral de Tierra Road, from the State Highway 68 generally south and east to its intersection with San Benancio Road, except at Corral del Cielo;

Cortez Lane, from the southernmost intersection with Los Arboles Circle generally north to Viva Lane;

Crazy Horse Canyon Road, from San Juan Grade Road generally northwesterly to State Highway 101;

Del Monte Avenue, in Castroville, from its terminus at State Highway 183 generally north to Wood Street, except at Blackie Road;

Dolan Road, from State Highway 1 generally east to Castroville Boulevard;

East Blanco Road, from State Highway 68 generally easterly to the city limits of the City of Salinas;

Echo Valley Road, near Prunedale, from San Miguel Canyon Road generally northeast to State Highway 101;

El Camino Real, from the southerly boundary of the City of Greenfield southerly to its intersection with U.S. Highway 101, and from the northerly boundary of the City of Greenfield northerly to its northerly terminus with U.S. Highway 101;

Elkhorn Road, from Castroville Boulevard northerly to Salinas Road at the foot of Werner Hill;

El Rancho Way, from Boronda Road generally east to Post Drive;

Elm Avenue, from Arroyo Seco Road generally northeasterly to the city limits of Greenfield and from Third Street generally northwesterly to Metz Road;

Esperanza Circle, from the western most intersection with Viva Lane to the eastern most intersection with Viva Lane;

Espinosa Road, from State Highway 183 generally easterly to State Highway 101;

Foletta Road, near the City of Gonzales, from Alta Street generally north to Chualar River Road;

Foothill Road, from River Road generally southeast to Paraiso Springs Road;

Ford Road, from its intersection with Carmel Valley Road generally east and southeast to its terminus at Holman Road;

Fort Romie Road, from Foothill Road generally southeasterly to Arroyo Seco Road;

Geil Street, in Castroville, from Wood Street generally northwest to Main Street and from Salinas Street generally northwest to Washington Street;

Gloria Road, from its intersection with Tavernetti Road generally northeast to its terminus at the San Benito County boundary line;

Gonzales River Road, from River Road generally northeasterly to the city limits of the City of Gonzales;

Grant Street, in Chualar, from its intersection with U.S. Highway 101 generally south to its terminus with U.S. Highway 101;

Haight Street, in Castroville, from Speegle Street generally southeast to Salinas Street;

Hall Road, including and from its intersection with Elkhorn Road, generally easterly to its intersection with San Miguel Canyon Road;

Harkins Road, from the limits of the City of Salinas southerly to Fifth Street, in Spreckels;

Harris Road, from its intersection with Spreckels Boulevard generally southeast and northeast to its intersection with Abbott Street;

Harrison Road, in its entirety, from Russell Road generally north to its terminus at Damian Way; except at the intersection with Martines Road;

Hatton Avenue, in Spreckels, from Fifth Street southerly to Spreckels Boulevard, except at the intersection with Fourth Street;

Hatton Road, from the easterly limits of the City of Carmel-by-the-Sea southerly to Mesa Drive;

Hebert Road, from Old Stage Road generally northwesterly to San Juan Grade Road;

Holman Road, from its intersection with Carmel Valley Road generally north to its terminus;

Inter-Garrison Road, from Reservation Road to Sherman Boulevard, from Sherman Boulevard to Schoonover Road, and from Schoonover Road generally southeast to its terminus five hundred (500) feet east of the centerline of Abrams Drive;

Interlake Road, near Lockwood, from Jolon Road generally southeast to the San Luis Obispo County boundary;

Johnson Canyon Road, near Gonzales, from Fanoe Road generally northeast to its terminus;

Jolon Road, King City, to U.S. Highway 101, two miles north of Bradley;

Las Lomas Drive, from its intersection with Hall Road generally northerly to its terminus;

Laureles Grade, from Carmel Valley Road generally northerly to State Highway 68;

Llano Avenue, from Spreckels Boulevard generally northeast to Fifth Street, except at Third Street;

Lockwood Jolon Road, from its intersection with Jolon Road generally northerly to its intersection with Lockwood San Lucas Road;

Moss Landing Road, from its southerly intersection with State Highway 1 northerly to its intersection with the same state highway;

Nacional Avenue, in Spreckels, from Spreckels Boulevard generally northeast to Fifth Street;

Nashua Road, from State Highway 1 generally southeasterly to Cooper Road;

Natividad Road, from the northerly limits of the City of Salinas to Old Stage Road;

Oak Avenue, from the western boundary of the City of Greenfield generally southwesterly to Fourteenth Street, and from the eastern boundary of said city generally northeasterly to First Street;

Ocean Avenue, from the easterly limits of the City of Carmel-by-the-Sea easterly to State Route 1;

Old Stage Road, from State Highway 101 generally northerly to the intersection with Williams Road, except at the intersection with Associated Lane;

Old Stage Road, from a point 1.75 miles generally northerly of the intersection with Williams Road, generally northerly to the intersection with Hebert Road, except at the intersection with Old Natividad Road;

Oliver Road, from Rio Road southeasterly to State Highway 1;

Ormart Road, from Castroville Boulevard generally southwesterly to its intersection with Meridian Road;

Paradise Road, from Castroville Boulevard generally northeast to San Miguel Canyon Road;

Paris Valley Road, near San Ardo, from State Highway 101 generally north to Lockwood-San Lucas Road;

Pico Avenue, in Carmel Woods, from Camino Del Monte generally east to Cabrillo Street;

The following highway intersections are stop intersections, and all vehicles shall stop at the respective entrances thereto designated in this Section prior to entering the same; and the Director of Transportation of the County of Monterey is directed to erect and maintain appropriate stop signs at such entrances:

Intersection of Addington Road and Fontes Lane, stop required on Addington Road at the entrance to Fontes Lane;

Intersection ofAtherton Drive and Lazarro Drive, stops required at all entrances at the intersection of Atherton Drive and Lazarro Drive;
