Chapter 2.64 — BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS GENERALLY

2.64.010 - Those qualifying for per diem.¶
Members of the following boards and commissions, except those members who are county officers or employees, shall be entitled to receive per diem as provided in Section 2.64.020:
A.
Advisory commission on adult post-sentence study;
B.
The advisory commission on aging;
C.
The Alameda County art commission;
D.
The Alameda County bicentennial commission;
E.
Alameda County revenue sharing proposal board;
F.
Architect selection committee;
G.
Charter review advisory committee;
H.
Committee to review salaries for interns and residents;
I.
The consumer affairs commission;
J.
The health care services commission;
K.
Health service review committee—Revenue sharing;
L.
The human relations commission;
M.
The library advisory commission;
N.
911 trial advisory committee;
O.
Occupational health advisory committee;
P.
Parks, recreation, and historical commission;
Q.
Pre-trial services advisory commission;
R.
The status of women commission;
S.
The veterans day commission;
T.
Voting system evaluation committee;
U.
Committee on criminal justice and data processing;
V.
Unincorporated area citizens' advisory committee;
W.
Human services council;
X.
Children's interest commission.

2.64.020 - Per diem.¶
Members of boards and commissions enumerated in Section 2.64.010 appointed by the board of supervisors shall receive per diems if requested as herein provided:
A.
The county is hereby divided into three separate zones as shown by the map on file in the office of the clerk of the board of supervisors entitled "Zone Map for Per Diem Determination."
B.
Attendance at a meeting in the zone in which a member's residence is located entitles the member to a per diem of five dollars ($5.00) not to exceed ten dollars ($10.00) per month.
C.
Attendance at a meeting in the zone adjacent to that of the member's residence entitles the member to a per diem of seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50), not to exceed fifteen dollars ($15.00) per month.
D.
Attendance at a meeting in the zone that is not adjacent to that of the member's residence entitles the member to a per diem of ten dollars ($10.00), not to exceed twenty dollars ($20.00) per month.
E.
The residence of members residing outside the county is deemed to be in the zone immediately adjacent to the county of residence.

2.64.030 - Travel and per diem expenses—Grand Jury.¶
A.
Effective March 1, 1992, each member of the Grand Jury shall be entitled to reimbursement at the same level as county employees for each mile actually traveled in attending sessions or meetings of the Grand Jury or a committee thereof.
B.
Effective November 1, 1991, each member of the Grand Jury shall be entitled to fifteen dollars ($15.00) per day for each day's attendance as a grand juror.

2.64.040 - Removal.¶
Notwithstanding any provision of any county ordinance or resolution, and except as otherwise provided by statute, any member of a board or commission who has been appointed by the board of supervisors may be removed at any time by majority vote of the board.
