Joining methods for stainless steel pipe and fittings shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions and shall comply with Section 1211.15.1 or Section 1211.15.2. 1211.15.1 Mechanical Joints. Mechanical joints shall be designed for their intended use. Such joints shall include compression, flanged, grooved, press-connect, and threaded.
1211.15.2 Welded Joints. Welded joints shall be either fusion or resistance welded based on the selection of the base metal. The chemical composition of the filler metal shall comply with AWS A5.9 based on the alloy content of the piping material.
