Joints between cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) pipe and fittings shall be installed with fittings for PEX tubing that comply with the applicable standards referenced in Table 1210.1. PEX tubing labeled in accordance with ASTM F876 or ASTM F3253 shall be marked with the applicable standard designation for the fittings specified for use with the tubing. Mechanical joints shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
