The circulator or pump shall be installed in such a way that strain from the piping is not transferred to the circulator or pump housing. The circulator or pump shall be permitted to be directly connected to the piping, provided the piping is supported on each side of the circulator or pump. Where the installation of a circulator or pump will cause strain on the piping, the circulator or pump shall be installed on a mounting bracket or base plate or securely fastened to or supported by the structure with approved fastening devices. Where means for controlling vibration of a circulator or pump is required, an approved means for support and restraint shall be provided.
