Joints and connections shall be of an approved type. Joints shall be gas and watertight and designed for the pressure of the hydronic system. Changes in direction shall be made by the use of fittings or with pipe bends. Joints between pipe and fittings shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions. Joints used underground shall be of an approved type for buried applications in accordance with Section 1221.2.3.
