Additives or chemicals shall be compatible with system components. Where systems include an additive, chemical injection or provisions for such injection, the potable water supply shall be protected by an air gap in accordance with ASME A112.1.2, an air gap fitting that complies with ASME A112.1.3, or a reduced-pressure principle backflow prevention assembly that complies with ASSE 1013.
