Chapter 7.92 — ELECTRIC CARTS ON COUNTY SIDEWALKS

7.92.010 - Electric carts on County sidewalks.

Only physically disabled persons, or persons fifty (50) years of age or older shall operate an electric cart upon any County sidewalks of the County of San Mateo, and only after obtaining a permit from the Department of Public Works.

7.92.020 - Permits.

The Director of Public Works and Road Commissioner is directed to cause permits and identification stickers to be issued to those disabled persons or persons fifty (50) years of age or older who own or lease electric carts and have requested permission to operate said electric carts on County sidewalks of the County of San Mateo.

The applicant shall affix the identification sticker to the cart in order to operate it on the sidewalk. The permit and identification sticker shall become invalid if the person ceases to operate, own, or lease the cart.
