2.19.010 - Technology Services Department; Director.

There is hereby created a Technology Services Department, the head of which shall be the Director of Technology Services, who shall also serve as the County's Chief Information Officer (CIO). The Director of Technology Services shall be appointed and supervised as provided by this Code.

2.19.020 - Responsibilities of Technology Services Department.

The Technology Services Department shall be responsible for Countywide technology programs and services, including the planning, procurement, implementation, operation, and support of: enterprise technology infrastructure, networks, and data centers; cloud services and platforms; enterprise applications and integrations; information security and cybersecurity risk management; business continuity and disaster recovery; digital services and web platforms; data governance, open data, analytics, responsible use of emerging technologies; and end-user services. The Technology Services Department shall establish and enforce technology policies, standards, and architectures; provide shared technology services to County departments; manage enterprise technology contracts and licensing in accordance with County procurement requirements; and advise the County Manager and the Board of Supervisors on technology matters and intergovernmental technology initiatives. Nothing in this section diminishes or alters any duty imposed by Federal or State law, the County Charter, ordinance, or resolution upon any County officer.
