Chapter 4.08 — MANURE AND FERTILIZERS

4.08.010 - Manure and fertilizer regulations.¶
It is unlawful for any Person to:
(a)
Load, unload or handle, or to assist in loading, unloading or handling, other than hauling, any manure, fertilizer, or other decomposing matter, on any public road, street or thoroughfare of said San Mateo County, or within one hundred yards of any public road, street or thoroughfare of said San Mateo County or within one hundred yards of any dwelling house then and there occupied by human beings in said San Mateo County.
(b)
Permit carloads or any other large quantities of manure, fertilizer or other decomposing matter to stand or remain for any period longer than is necessary in switching or carrying a car through on any public road, street or thoroughfare of said San Mateo County, or within one hundred yards of any public road, street or thoroughfare, or within one hundred yards of any dwelling house then and there occupied by human beings in said San Mateo County.
(c)
Deposit or Permit to remain on any public highway of said San Mateo County any manure, fertilizer or other decomposing matter.
(d)
Let loads of manure or other decomposing matter, as the same are loaded upon wagons or other vehicles, stand upon or along the public roads of San Mateo County.
(e)
Haul over or upon the County roads of said County any manure or decomposing matter without having the same completely covered with a good and sufficient canvas cover.

4.08.020 - Exception.¶
It is expressly provided, however, that the provisions of this chapter do not prevent any Person from placing such manure or fertilizer upon any lot or parcel of land within said San Mateo County as is necessary for properly fertilizing such lot or parcel of land.
