13.36.010 - Naming streets.¶
The streets hereinafter described shall be named and shall hereafter be known and designated as follows: (All subdivision maps hereinafter referred to are on file in the office of the county recorder, county of Marin.)
Almonte Avenue as shown on "Map of Subdivision Two Marin Terraces" as recorded in volume 5 of maps on page 13 is renamed "Loring Avenue." Mark Lane and Long Lane as shown on "Map of Westeria" as recorded in volume 3 of maps on page 22 are renamed "Lark Lane." Willow Way as shown on "Map of Westeria" as recorded in volume 3 of maps on page 22 is renamed "Westeria Way."
The portion of Yale Avenue between lot nine, block two hundred six, and lot sixteen, block two hundred two as shown on "Map of Marin Terrace" as recorded in volume 4 of maps on page 44 is renamed "Morning Sun Avenue." Wellesley Avenue as shown on "Map of Subdivision Number One Mill Valley Terraces" as recorded in volume 5 of maps on page 11, and as shown on "Map of Marin Terrace" as recorded in volume 4 of maps on page 44, is renamed "Mills Avenue."
Stanford Avenue as shown on "Map of Marin Terrace" as recorded in volume 4 of maps on page 44, is renamed "North Stanford Avenue." The portion of Cleveland Avenue between the most southerly corner of lot twenty-five, block thirty, and lot seventeen, block twenty-nine, as shown on "Map of Marin Heights, Subdivision A" as recorded in volume 4 of maps on page 11, is renamed "Princeton Avenue."
Rose Avenue as shown on "Map of Marin Heights, Subdivision A" as recorded in volume 4 of maps on page 11, is renamed "Rosemont Avenue."
Stanford Avenue as shown on the map entitled "Subdivision 'B' of Marin Heights" as recorded in volume 4 of maps on page 99, and as shown on the map entitled "Subdivision 'C' Marin Heights" as recorded in volume 4 of maps on page 104, is renamed "South Stanford Avenue."
The portion of Wellesley Avenue between the most southerly corner of lot nine, block two, and Median Way, as shown on "Map of Marin Half Acre Homes Subdivision Three" as recorded in volume 5 of maps on page 28, is renamed "Median Way."
Oak Avenue as shown on "Map of Marin Half Acre Homes Subdivision Three" as recorded in volume 5 of maps on page 28 is renamed "Pine Hill Road." Oakdale Avenue as shown on the map entitled "Marin Half Acre Homes" as recorded in volume 4 of maps on page 111 is renamed "Pomo Way." Laurel Way as shown on "Map of Marin Half Acre Home Subdivision Three" as recorded in volume 5 of maps on page 28, and as shown on the map entitled "Marin Half Acre Homes" as recorded in volume 4 of maps on page 111 is renamed "Hilldale Way."
The portion of Morning Sun Avenue shown on the map entitled "Marin Half Acre Homes" as recorded in volume 4 of maps on page 111, and as shown on the map entitled "Subdivision 'C' Marin Heights" as recorded in volume 4 of maps on page 104 is renamed "South Morning Sun Avenue." Oak Street as shown on "Map of Blocks A, B, C, D, and E of Subdivision Number 1 of Tamalpais Valley" as recorded in volume 2 of maps on page 119 is renamed "Poplar Street."
Tamalpais Way as shown on "Map of Blocks A, B, C, D, and E of Subdivision Number 1 of Tamalpais Valley" as recorded in volume 2 of maps on page 119 is renamed "Greenglen Way."
Alcatraz Way as shown on "Map of Blocks A, B, C, D, and E of Subdivision Number 1 of Tamalpais Valley" as recorded in volume 2 of maps on page 119 is renamed "Live Oaks Drive."
Main Street as shown on the man entitled, "A Portion of the Streets and Highways Master Plan, Marin County, California, known as Official House Numbering Map of Almonte and Tamalpais Valley" is hereby renamed "Laurel Way."
Central Avenue as shown on the map entitled "Little City Farms Being Subdivision No. 3 of Tamalpais Valley" as recorded in volume 5 of maps on page 6 is renamed "Pineo Avenue."
Bay View Road as shown on "Map of Tamalpais Woods Addition Subdivision Number 1" as recorded in volume 5 of maps on page 48 is renamed "View Point Road."
Almonte Way as shown on the map entitled "Little City Farms Being Subdivision No. 3 of Tamalpais Valley" as recorded in volume 5 of maps on page 6 is renamed "Eucalyptus Way."
The lane running easterly from Northern Avenue at the southerly boundary of lot twelve, block one as said avenue and lot are shown on the map entitled "Little City Farms Being Subdivision No. 3 of Tamalpais Valley" as recorded in volume 5 of maps on page 6 is named "Wanda Lane."
Madrone Street as shown on the map entitled "Subdivision No. 2, Tamalpais Valley" as recorded in volume 5 of maps on page 3 is renamed "Browning Street."
Bay View Avenue as shown on "Map of Subdivision Four Marin Terraces" as recorded in volume 5 of maps on page 33 and as shown on "Map of Subdivision Two Marin Terraces" as recorded in volume 5 of maps on page 13 is renamed "Greenhill Road."
Fairview Avenue as shown on the map entitled "Fairview Park Subdivision Two" as recorded in volume 4 of maps on page 82 is renamed "Heights Drive."
The portion of California Avenue shown on the map entitled "Fairview Park Subdivision Two" as recorded in volume 4 of maps on page 82 is renamed "Heights Drive."
The portion of California Avenue shown on the map entitled "Fairview Park Subdivision Two" as recorded in volume 4 of maps on page 82 and shown on the map entitled "Fairview Park Subdivision Three" as recorded in volume 4 of maps on page 92, and as shown on "Map of Subdivision Number One Mill Valley Terraces" as recorded in volume 5 of maps on page 11, is renamed "West California Avenue."
State Highway 1 starting at United States Highway 101 south of Redwood Bridge and running through Tamalpais Valley is named "Shoreline Highway."
The county road (old state highway) between Tamalpais Valley Junction and the Tamalpais Union High School is named "Almonte Boulevard."

13.36.020 - Adoption of official street naming map.¶
That certain map entitled "A portion of the Streets and Highways Master Plan, Marin County, California, Known as Official House Numbering Map of Almonte and Tamalpais Valley," the map being filed in the office of the planning commission, is hereby adopted by the county, for the sole purpose of naming and designating public streets in that area, provided, however, that the adoption of the map is not intended to act as an acceptance of streets whose dedication is not otherwise accepted, and, as to such streets said official map is to be used for identification only. The purpose of said official map for house numbering is hereby repealed.

13.36.025 - Official house numbering map adopted.¶
That certain map entitled "Official House Numbering Map—Tamalpais Valley, Almonte, Homestead Valley—Marin County, California, April, 1967" is hereby adopted for the purpose of house numbering only. A copy of the map shall be filed with the county clerk and with the county planning department.

13.36.030 - Fixing numbers.¶
A. The planning department shall assign official numbers to all structures and lots abutting any public or private street within Tamalpais Valley and Almonte in accordance with a map entitled "Official House Numbering Map—Tamalpais Valley, Almonte, Homestead Valley —Marin County, California, April, 1967," as hereinbefore adopted, except as specified in subsection D below.
B. The planning department shall notify all affected property owners at least sixty days prior to the effective date of the official numbers. The assignment of official numbers may be appealed to the planning commission within fifteen days of notification. The planning commission shall hold a hearing within thirty days of receipt of the appeal and render a decision thereon, which shall be final.
C. In the event that more than ten lots in any assessor's block or on any one street are notified simultaneously of the assignment of official numbers, the planning commission shall hold a hearing and render a decision which shall be final. The planning commission shall set the effective date for the official numbers no sooner than sixty days from the date of the final decision by the commission.
D. Official numbers of no more than two digits may be assigned if a majority of all property owners on one street request the numbers in writing to the planning department, provided that all possible structures on the street can be assigned numbers 1 through 99.

13.36.040 - Numbers required.¶
Beginning with the effective date, official numbers, at least three inches in height, shall be so placed on all lots occupied by buildings as to be easily seen from the street.

13.36.050 - Duty to affix number.¶
If the owner or lessee of any building shall fail, refuse or neglect to place the number, or to replace it when necessary, the planning commission, or an officer or employee of the commission, designated for such purpose, and upon order of the board of supervisors, shall cause notice to be personally served on the owner or lessee or mailed by registered mail to his last known address, ordering him to place or replace the number. The owner or lessee shall comply with the notice within ten days from the date of service.
