13.32.010 - Naming streets.

The following streets and portions of streets, in this section described, shall be named and shall hereafter be known and designated as follows: That street in Homestead Valley which is shown as running diagonally in an easterly direction from Montford Avenue to Molino Avenue on that certain map entitled "Amended Map of La Verne Heights, Marin County, California," as recorded in the Marin County records in volume 4 of maps at page 2, is named and shall be known as Pixie Trail.

That street (sometimes known as Avery Street) in Homestead Valley between La Verne Avenue and Montford Avenue and adjacent to the easterly line of block six, as said streets and block are shown on that certain map entitled "Tamalpais Land and Water Company Map No. 7, 'Homestead Valley' Marin County, California," as recorded in the Marin County records in volume 3 of maps on page 85, is named and shall be known as Melrose Avenue.

That street in Homestead Valley as shown on that certain map entitled "Subdivision of Westerly half of Lot 13, Tamalpais Land and Water Company Map No. 6, 'Homestead Valley' Marin County, California," as recorded in said Marin County records in volume 5 of maps on page 29, is named and shall be known as Reed Street.

13.32.020 - Renaming certain streets.

The following streets and portions of streets, hereinafter in this section described, shall be renamed and their names as heretofore designated shall be changed and shall hereafter be known and designated as follows: Willow Avenue as shown on that certain map entitled "Amended Map No. 1 of Morton Subdivision of Lot 6, Block 4, Tamalpais Land and Water Company Map No. 7, 'Homestead Valley' Marin County, California," as recorded in the Marin County records in volume 3 of maps on page 56, and Heckman Street as shown on that certain map entitled "Heckman Tract Subdivision of Lots 1, 2, 3, Block 3, Tamalpais Land and Water Company Map No. 7, 'Homestead Valley' Marin County, California," as recorded in the Marin County records in volume 3 of maps on page 8, are renamed, and shall both be known as Linden Lane.

That portion of Ferndale Avenue between Homestead Boulevard and the most westerly corner of lot two, block nineteen, as said streets, block and lot are shown on that certain map entitled "Tamalpais Land and Water Company Map No. 7, 'Homestead Valley' Marin County, California," as recorded in the Marin County records in volume 3 of maps on page 85, is renamed and shall be known as South Ferndale Avenue.

That portion of Ferndale Avenue between the most westerly corner of lot two, block nineteen, and La Verne Avenue as said streets, lot and block are shown on that certain map entitled "Tamalpais Land and Water Company Map No. 7 'Homestead Valley' Marin County, California," as recorded in the Marin County records in volume 3 of maps on page 85, is renamed and shall be known as North Ferndale Avenue.

13.32.030 - Adoption of official street naming map.

That certain map entitled "A portion of the Streets and Highways Master Plan, Marin County, California, known as Official House Numbering Map of Homestead Valley," of which a cloth print was filed with the county clerk on January 26, 1948, now on file in his office, is hereby adopted by the county for the sole purpose of naming and designating public streets and alleys in the area; provided, however, that the adoption of the map is not intended to act as an acceptance of streets whose dedication is not otherwise accepted, and, as to the streets and alleys, the official map is to be used for identification only. The purpose of said official map for house numbering is hereby repealed.

13.32.035 - Official house numbering map adopted.

That certain map entitled, "Official House Numbering Map—Tamalpais Valley, Almonte, Homestead Valley—Marin County, California, April, 1967," is hereby adopted for the purpose of house numbering only. A copy of the map shall be filed with the county clerk and with the county planning department.

13.32.040 - Fixing numbers.

A. The planning department shall assign official numbers to all structures and lots abutting any public or private street within Homestead Valley in accordance with a map entitled, "Official House Numbering Map—Tamalpais Valley, Almonte, Homestead Valley—Marin County, California, April, 1967" as hereinbefore adopted, except as specified in subsection D below.

B. The planning department shall notify all affected property owners at least sixty days prior to the effective date of the official numbers. The assignment of official numbers may be appealed to the planning commission within fifteen days of notification. The planning commission shall hold a hearing within thirty days of receipt of the appeal and render a decision thereon, which shall be final.

C. In the event that more than ten lots in any assessor's block or on any one street are notified simultaneously of the assignment of official numbers, the planning commission should hold a hearing and render a decision which shall be final. The planning commission shall set the effective date for the official numbers no sooner than sixty days from the date of their final decision.

D. Official numbers of no more than two digits may be assigned if a majority of all property owners on one street request such numbers in writing to the planning department, provided that all possible structures on such street can be assigned numbers 1 through 99.

13.32.050 - Numbers required.

Beginning with the effective date, official numbers, at least three inches in height, shall be so placed on all lots occupied by buildings as to be easily seen from the street.

13.32.060 - Duty to affix number.

If the owner or lessee of any building shall fail, refuse or neglect to place the number or to replace it when necessary, the planning commission, or an officer or employee of the commission designated for such purpose, and upon order of this board of supervisors, shall cause notice to be personally served on the owner or lessee or mailed by registered mail to his last known address, ordering him to place or replace the number. The owner or lessee shall comply with the notice within ten days from the date of service.
