13.28.010 - Renaming certain streets.¶
The following streets and portions of streets, hereinafter in this section described, shall be renamed and their names as heretofore designated shall be changed and shall hereafter be known and designated as follows: Redwood Avenue as shown on that certain map entitled, "Raymond Tract, Ross Valley, Subdivision Two," as recorded in the Marin County records September 15, 1905, in liber 4 of maps at page 15, is renamed and shall be known as "Hillside Avenue";
That portion of Toyon Drive from Makin Grade to Poplar Drive as shown on that certain map entitled, "Amended Map of Del Mesa," as recorded in the Marin County records, February 23, 1937, in liber 5 of maps at page 69, is renamed and shall be known as Hill Drive;
Butler Road, as shown on that certain map entitled, "Amended Map of Butler Tract," as recorded in the Marin County records February 19, 1912, in liber 4 of maps at page 15, is renamed and shall be known as Cypress Avenue;
That old state highway now a county road which connects the northern Larkspur corporate limits and Sir Francis Drake Blvd., is named and shall be known as College Avenue;
Locust Avenue, as shown on that certain subdivision map, entitled, "Being a portion of the map entitled, 'Plan of Villa Lots near San Rafael,' as filed in the recorder's office of Marin County, California, on September 10, 1887, being subdivisions of Lots 29, 30 and 31, as shown upon said map," as recorded in the Marin County records, August 17, 1900, in liber 1 of maps at page 110, is renamed and shall be known as Palm Avenue.

13.28.020 - Adoption of official house numbering map.¶
That certain map entitled "Official House Numbering Map of Kentfield and Vicinity," of which a blue line print mounted on cloth is filed with the county clerk of the county of Marin, state of California, upon February 9, 1942, and now on file in said office, is hereby adopted by the county of Marin both for house numbering purposes and for the purpose of naming and designating public streets and alleys in said area, provided, however, that the adoption of said map is not intended to act as an acceptance of streets whose dedication is not otherwise accepted, and, as to such streets and alleys, said official map is to be used for identification only.

13.28.030 - Palm Avenue—Numbering change.¶
The numbering as shown on the "Official House Numbering Map of Kentfield and Vicinity" for Palm Avenue as shown on said map is changed in that the numbers shall start at three hundred at Laurel Grove Avenue and progress in the usual manner toward the first turn to the right as shown on said map, and shall at that point start at four hundred and proceed to Cypress Avenue as shown on said map.

13.28.040 - Bridge Road named.¶
That section of Redwood Drive between Bridge Road in Ross and most westerly corner of lot sixty-eight as shown on "Map of Raymond Tract, Subdivision One" as recorded in the office of the county recorder in volume 2 of maps on page 30, be renamed and shall be known as Bridge Road.

13.28.050 - Procedure for fixing numbers.¶
All structures, abutting on any public street, avenue, drive, road, place or land within Kentfield and vicinity shall be given and marked with an official number. Except as hereinafter specifically set forth, the numbers shall be in accordance with that certain map entitled, "Official House Numbering Map of Kentfield and Vicinity," as hereinbefore adopted. Numbers shall proceed from the smaller number as shown upon said map to the larger number. The even numbers shall be given to and placed upon structures fronting on the right side of such streets and the odd numbers shall be given to and placed upon structures fronting on the left side of such streets. Beginning at the lowest even number and proceeding toward the largest even number, one such even number shall be given to each fifty feet of property frontage on the right side of the street. Beginning at the lowest odd number and proceeding towards the lowest odd number, one such odd number shall be given to each fifty feet of property frontage on the left side of the street. In case of doubt, or where a question arises as to the proper number to be assigned to any structure, the planning commission or an officer or employee of said commission, designated for such purpose, shall decide the question and fix the number of such structure.

13.28.060 - Numbering specifications.¶
The number plate, placed upon any building shall be metal or wood, or the number may be painted on the front of the building, door, post, transom or other place. The number shall be at least three inches in height and shall be so placed as to be easily seen from the street.

13.28.070 - Duty to affix number.¶
If the owner or lessee of any building shall fail, refuse or neglect to place the number or to replace it when necessary, the planning commission or an officer or employee of said commission, designated for such purpose, and upon order of this board of supervisors, shall cause notice to be personally served on such owner or lessee or mailed by registered mail to his last known address, ordering him to place or replace the number. Such owner or lessee shall comply with such notice within ten days from the date of service.

13.28.080 - Penalty for violation.¶
Any person, firm or corporation, whether as principal, agent, employee, or otherwise, violating any of the provisions of this chapter, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars or by imprisonment in the county jail for a term of not exceeding thirty days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

13.28.090 - Severability.¶
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this chapter is for any reason held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this chapter. The board of supervisors hereby declares that it would have passed this chapter and each section, subsection, sentence, clause and phrase irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared invalid.
