13.34.010 - Naming streets.¶
The streets hereinafter described shall be named and shall hereafter be known and designated as follows: That portion of the former California State Highway No. 52, Section A, running westerly from its intersection with Redwood Highway U. S. Route 101 at the intersection commonly known as the Tiburon Wye to its intersection with the road known as the Old State Highway running parallel to the most easterly corporate limits of the city of Mill Valley, is named "Camino Alto."
That road known as county road to San Rafael which road is shown running westerly from Redwood Highway U. S. Route 101 from the northerly limits of Alto tract subdivision three as said tract is recorded in the office of the county recorder, county of Marin in volume 5 of maps on page 193, to the northwest corner of Alto tract subdivision one as recorded in the office of the county recorder, county of Marin, in volume 5 of maps on page 12, thence running southerly along the westerly boundary of said Alto subdivision one to the Northwestern Pacific right-of-way, is named "Lomita Drive."
That street or court being an extension of Shell Road northerly from the northerly intersection of said Shell Road with the road hereinbefore named Lomita Drive is named "Shell Court."
That portion of the county road known as county road to Tiburon running westerly from its intersection with the portion of the former California State Highway No. 52, Section A, hereinbefore named Camino Alto, at approximately two thousand feet easterly from the hereinbefore mentioned Tiburon Wye, to its intersection with the hereinbefore named Lomita Drive is named "Marsh Road."
The street shown as Hilarita Drive on that certain map entitled "Plat of Alto Tract Subdivision No. 2" as recorded in the office of the county recorder, county of Marin, in volume 5 of maps on page 83, is renamed "Meadow Drive."
That portion of California State Highway No. 52, Section A, running easterly from its intersection with Redwood Highway U. S. Route 101, at the hereinbefore mentioned Tiburon Wye, to its intersection with the county road leading from the city of Belvedere to the town of Tiburon is named "Tiburon Boulevard."
That portion of the county road known as county road to Tiburon running southerly for a distance of approximately one thousand four hundred feet from its intersection with Redwood Highway U.S. Route 101 at the hereinbefore mentioned Tiburon Wye is named "Wye Road."
That portion of the county road known as county road to Tiburon running westerly for a distance of approximately two thousand six hundred feet from its intersection with the hereinbefore named Tiburon Boulevard at approximately three thousand five hundred feet easterly from the hereinbefore mentioned Tiburon Wye to its intersection with the hereinbefore named Wye Road is named "Belvedere Drive."
The road running southerly for a distance of approximately one thousand feet from its intersection with the hereinbefore named Tiburon Boulevard at approximately one thousand feet easterly from the hereinbefore mentioned Tiburon Wye, and running thence northeasterly for a distance of approximately six hundred feet is named "South Knoll Road."
The road running westerly from its intersection with the hereinbefore named South Knoll Road at approximately three hundred feet southerly from the hereinbefore named Tiburon Boulevard to its intersection from the road hereinbefore named Wye Road is named "Knoll Road."
The road known as Knoll Road and running northeasterly from its intersection with the hereinbefore named Tiburon Boulevard at a point approximately one thousand three hundred feet southeasterly from the intersection of Tiburon Boulevard and Redwood Highway U.S. Route 101 for a distance of approximately two hundred and eighty feet, thence running in a northerly direction approximately three thousand feet to its intersection with Redwood Highway U.S. Route 101 is renamed "North Knoll Road."
The street shown on that certain map entitled "Map of Bayview Heights Unit One" as recorded in the office of the county recorder, county of Marin, in volume 6 of maps on page 25, together with its westerly extension to that road hereinbefore named North Knoll Road is renamed "Bay Vista Drive."

13.34.020 - Adoption of official house numbering map.¶
That certain map entitled "A Portion of the Streets and Highways Master Plan, Marin County, California, known as Official House Numbering Map of Alto and Vicinity," said map being filed in the office of the planning commission, is hereby adopted by the county of Marin, state of California, both for house numbering purposes and for the purpose of naming and designating public streets in said area, provided, however, that the adoption of said map is not intended to act as an acceptance of streets whose dedication is not otherwise accepted, and, as to such streets said official map is to be used for identification only.

13.34.030 - Fixing numbers.¶
All structures, abutting on any public street, avenue, drive, road, place or land in Alto and vicinity shall be given and marked with an official number. The numbers shall be in accordance with that certain map entitled "A Portion of the Streets and Highways Master Plan, Marin County, California, Known as Official House Numbering Map of Alto and Vicinity," as hereinbefore adopted. Numbers shall proceed from the smaller number as shown upon said map to the larger number. The even numbers shall be given to and placed upon structures fronting on the right side of such streets. Beginning at the lowest even number and proceeding towards the highest even number, one such even number shall be given to each fifty feet of property frontage on the right side of the street. Beginning at the lowest odd number and proceeding towards the highest odd number, one such odd number shall be given to each fifty feet of property frontage on the left side of the street.
In case of doubt, or where a question arises as to the proper number to be assigned to any structure, the planning commission or an officer or employee of said commission, designated for such purpose, shall decide the question and fix the number of such structures. Numbers shall in like manner be given to each twenty-five feet of property frontage on Redwood Highway U.S. Highway 101.

13.34.040 - Numbers required.¶
The number plate, placed upon any building shall be metal or wood, or the number may be painted on the front of the building door, post, transom or other place. The number shall be at least three inches in height and shall be so placed as to be easily seen from the street.

13.34.050 - Duty to affix number.¶
If the owner or lessee of any building shall fail, refuse or neglect to place the number or to replace it when necessary, the planning commission or an officer or employee of said commission, designated for such purpose, and upon order of this board of supervisors, shall cause notice to be personally served on such owner or lessee or mailed by registered mail to his last known address, ordering him to place or replace the number. Such owner or lessee shall comply with such notice within ten days from the date of service.
