2.116.010 - Livestock advisory council.¶
A livestock advisory council is created within Imperial County. The county veterinarian and agricultural commissioner shall serve on the council. Six public members shall be appointed to the council by the board of supervisors as follows: One member shall represent the county's livestock veterinarians; one member shall represent the county's sheep industry; three members shall represent the county's beef cattle feeding industry; and one member shall represent the county's cattle grazing, dairy or other form of livestock industry, not represented above.

2.116.020 - Term of membership.¶
The public members of the council shall serve for staggered terms of four years to coincide with the terms of the board of supervisors. At the first meeting of the council, three members shall be designated by lot as having terms which expire on the first Monday after the first Tuesday in January, 1977. Each member shall continue to serve, at the pleasure of the board of supervisors, until a successor is appointed.

2.116.030 - Purpose of council.¶
The livestock advisory council shall advise and make recommendations to the board of supervisors regarding the prevention and control of livestock diseases and concerning other matters relating to the livestock industry within Imperial County. The council will also assist and advise the county veterinarian and the agricultural commissioner in their respective duties, especially in connection with matters pertaining to livestock disease control and eradication. The council may also be used as a vehicle for the dissemination of notices and information of concern to county's livestock industry.

2.116.040 - Meetings and regulations.¶
The livestock advisory council shall meet at least once every calendar year. The county veterinarian shall act as chairperson of the council. The council shall adopt appropriate rules and/or by-laws governing the conduct of business.
