Reminder:

Case controls on a NOREF case cannot be closed until all actions have been performed, posted and the TC 841 has posted.

A control base is automatically established by inputting a REQ54/ADJ54 adjustment. ADJ 54 input of A, B, or M in the CASE-STS-CD> field will leave an open control base. If C is input a base will display as closed but can still be viewed in TXMOD. However, a C or closed base will not appear on the weekly Overage Report in Control D.

A control base is automatically established by input of a credit transfer. Input of A, B, or M in the Debit Status or Credit Status field in IAT will leave an open control base. If C is input a base will display as closed but can still be viewed in TXMOD. However, a C or closed base will not appear on the weekly Overage Report in Control D.

A control base can be input manually utilizing CC ACTON.

ACTON is input in the upper left hand corner of IDRS, overlaying TXMODA.

Clear the remainder of the line.

On the next line enter C#,ACTIVITY,B,OURV and then clear the remainder of the line. (The # establishes the next number of control base. If this is the first control being opened on the module 01 will be the count after transmittal. ACTIVITY section allows 10 characters. B is the case status. OURV is Output Review, the original name for Notice Review. If the case required a NOREF use RFDL for Refund Delete).

On the next line enter , (First * assigns to TE who is inputting and second * is the current date. Either of these fields can be input manually, for instance if assigning to a different tax examiner (e.g. 0926162586,*).

Page up or transmit.

Go back to TXMODA; review the control base for correctness before exiting the case.

Establish a control base on IDRS for all cases held in suspense past the notice cycle (H disposition in OLNR). This will cause the case to appear on the weekly Overage Report. This aged listing should be reviewed each week. The Control D report job name to review the Overage Report (aged list) is CCA4243*.
