Chapter 9.24 — OBSTRUCTION OF WATER DRAINAGE

9.24.010 - Waterway described.¶
There is, within the city, a waterway which drains the surface waters from the streets and properties within the city, and transports water through the city and drains the surrounding area, and the maintenance of the creek free and clear of obstructions is necessary for the preservation of the health and safety of the citizens of the community. The creek and waterway is commonly known as Sutter Creek, and traverses the city in a generally easterly and westerly direction.

9.24.020 - Dumping in waterway prohibited.¶
No person, firm, association or corporation shall deposit or cause to be deposited any material, substance or thing in the waterway known as Sutter Creek.

9.24.030 - Obstructing waterway prohibited.¶
No person, firm, association or corporation shall obstruct the waterway in any manner whatsoever.

9.24.040 - Violation—Penalty.¶
Any person violating this chapter, or any provisions thereof, is guilty of a misdemeanor or infraction, and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars or by imprisonment for not more than six months in the county jail, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
