Article III

§ 6.01. General and Special Municipal Elections.

General Municipal Elections for the election of officers and for such other purposes as the council may prescribe, shall be held in the City on the date specified by the Elections Code of the State of California for State-wide general elections (Elections Code Section2550). Such General Municipal Elections shall be conducted in each even-numbered year. All other municipal elections that may be held by authority of this charter, or of general law, or by ordinance, shall be known as Special Municipal Elections.
