§ 11.18.010. Crosswalks.

The director is authorized to establish, designate and maintain crosswalks at intersections and other places by appropriate devices, marks or lines upon the surface of the roadway. (Ord. 1748 § 1, 1983)

§ 11.18.020. Jaywalking prohibited.

No pedestrian shall cross a roadway other than in a crosswalk in any business district as defined by Section 235 of the Vehicle Code.

§ 11.18.030. Crossing at right angles.

No pedestrian shall cross a roadway at any place other than by a route at right angles to the curb or by the shortest route to the opposite curb except in a marked crosswalk. (Ord. 1748 § 1, 1983)

§ 11.18.040. Skateboards, roller skates and in-line skates.

  • A. It is unlawful to ride or propel any skateboard, rollerskate or in-line skate upon any sidewalk or street so as to interfere with pedestrian or vehicular traffic.

  • B. It is unlawful to ride or propel any skateboard, rollerskate or in-line skate upon or across any privately owned property without the consent of the owner.

  • C. Subsection B of this section shall not be enforceable unless the private property owner posts a sign that prohibits the conduct and references this section, provided, however that posting of a sign is not required for this section to apply to residential property.

  • D. It is unlawful to ride or propel any skateboard, rollerskate or in-line skate upon any public property if the property owner posts a sign that prohibits the conduct and references this section.

  • E. Any sign posted pursuant to this section which prohibits rollerskating shall be deemed to also prohibit in-line skating and vice-versa, unless the sign otherwise provides.
