15-85 Discharge 15-86 Resignation

15-85 Discharge

An employee in the classified service may be discharged at any time by the city manager. Whenever the city manager intends to discharge an employee in the classified service, he shall notify the personnel director. The city manager shall take disciplinary discharge action in accordance with Article XI. (Res. No. 7-7-87-2, Rule XII, (part).)

15-86 Resignation

An employee in the classified service in good standing may resign his or her employment. To do so, the employee shall file in writing with the city manager. The writing shall set forth the effective date thereof and the reasons therefor. The employee should file the writing at least two weeks before the effective date (unless the city manager waives the two-week time period). If the employee fails to give notice as required by this rule, such failure shall be cause or denying future employment by the city. (Res. No. 7-7-87-2, Rule XII, (part).)
