Excavations required to be made for the installation of piping or tubing shall be in accordance with Section 317.3. Piping or tubing shall be supported to maintain its alignment and prevent sagging. Piping in the ground shall be laid on a firm bed for its entire length; where other support is otherwise provided, it shall be approved in accordance with Section 302.0. Piping or tubing shall be backfilled after an inspection in accordance with Section 317.4.
