The rated discharge capacity of a pressure-relief device expressed in pounds of air per minute (kg/s), shall be determined in accordance with ASME BPVC Section VIII.1. Pipe and fittings between the pressure-relief valve and the parts of the system it protects shall have not less than the area of the pressurerelief valve inlet area. [ASHRAE 15:9.7.6]
