2.80.010 - Organization.¶
A housing commission is hereby established in Alameda County.

2.80.020 - Membership.¶
The housing commission shall consist of one representative from each city in which the county housing authority operates a housing program, one representative from the Alameda County unincorporated area, and two tenants of the Alameda County housing authority, one of whom shall be over sixty-two (62) years of age if the authority has tenants of such age.

2.80.030 - Residence of members.¶
Commissioners shall reside within the city or area they represent.

2.80.040 - Terms of office.¶
Commissioners shall serve four-year terms at the pleasure of the board of supervisors, except that at the first meeting of the commission following the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter, the commissioners shall by lot choose half of their number to serve an initial two-year term, with all commissioners thereafter serving a four-year term as provided above.

2.80.050 - Method of appointment.¶
All appointments to the commission shall be made by the board of supervisors. Each city in which the county housing authority operates a housing program shall nominate a representative to the commission for the board of supervisor's approval.

2.80.060 - Powers.¶
The housing commission shall have those powers set forth in Health and Safety Code Section 634292 and such powers as may be delegated to it pursuant to Section 634929.

2.80.070 - Quorum.¶
The presence of members representing a majority of the total membership shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. No action may be taken by the commission except upon the affirmative vote of a majority of the members present.

2.80.080 - Officers.¶
The commission shall annually select a chairperson from its members and such other officers as the commission shall provide for in its by-laws.

2.80.090 - By-laws.¶
The commission shall adopt by-laws for the conduct of business which shall not be inconsistent with the provisions of this chapter, applicable Health and Safety Code provisions, or enactments, delegating powers to the commission.
