2.76.010 - Recognition.

There is in the county a fish and game advisory commission, hereafter in this chapter referred to as the commission.

2.76.020 - Statement of purpose.

It is the policy of the county of Alameda to encourage and create a forum for citizen input regarding all fish and game programs and the administration of these programs in the county.

2.76.030 - Commission members.

The commission consists of five members appointed by the board of supervisors. Each supervisor shall nominate one member from said supervisor's district. It is desirable that each member possess a valid hunting and fishing license during tenure in office.

2.76.040 - Commission term—Vacancies.

The term of each member shall coincide with the term of office of the supervisor from the district in which the member resides. All members shall serve at the pleasure of the board of supervisors, and any membership may be terminated by a majority vote of the board of supervisors. A vacancy thereby created will be filled in the same manner as the original appointment.

2.76.050 - Officers.

The commission shall select a chairman and a secretary from its members, each of whom shall serve in those positions for a period of one year and thereafter until his or her successor is selected.

2.76.060 - Meetings.

The commission shall meet at least four times a year, at the time and place to be determined by the commission. Roll call attendance shall be a part of the commission minutes. Meetings shall be open to the public.

2.76.070 - Quorum.

The quorum shall consist of a simple majority of the number of members appointed.

2.76.080 - Rules and regulations.

The commission shall adopt rules and regulations for the conduct of its business which rules and regulations shall be lodged with the clerk of the board of supervisors and made available to the public.

2.76.090 - Records.

Minutes and attendance records of each commission meeting shall be regularly kept, maintained and submitted to each member of the commission and to each member of the board of supervisors prior to the next meeting of the commission.

2.76.100 - Staffing.

The sheriff's department shall provide staff to assist the commission in the performance of its duties.

2.76.110 - Duties of commission.

The commission shall function as an advisory body to the board of supervisors and shall deliberate concerning the best methods to achieve the conservation and propagation of fish and game in the county of Alameda. The commission shall recommend to the board of supervisors an annual budget for the expenditures of funds from the county's fish and game preservation fund, pursuant to Sections 13003 and 13100 of the Fish and Game Code of the state.

2.76.120 - Compensation—Traveling expenses.

The members of the commission shall serve without compensation. However, each member shall be entitled to traveling expenses to and from his or her usual place of residence to the place of meeting of the commission at the current rate allowed county employees for each mile actually and necessarily traveled in attending commission meetings. Members shall be allowed traveling expenses on commission business other than commission meetings when specifically authorized by the board of supervisors.
