2.28.010 - Recognition.¶
There is in the county a field services department, hereafter in this chapter referred to as the department.

2.28.020 - Executive officer.¶
The executive officer of the department is the director of field services, appointed by the board of supervisor, hereafter in this chapter referred to as the director.

2.28.030 - General powers and duties—Fire protection.¶
In the unincorporated territory of the county which is outside the boundaries of any fire protection district, the director shall perform all duties imposed by state law or county ordinances upon the fire warden; he shall enforce and administer the provisions of state law, and ordinances not inconsistent therewith, pertaining to the extinguishing, preventing, eliminating or minimizing fires or fire hazards. For such purposes the director shall enforce and administer the provisions of Chapter 6.04 of the Alameda County General Ordinance Code and all applicable state laws authorized by this section; in the enforcement of such he shall have the power of a peace officer.

2.28.040 - Waste disposal.¶
In the unincorporated territory of the county which is outside the boundaries of any fire protection district, the director shall make regular inspection of any premises for which a license or permit has been issued under the Alameda County waste disposal ordinance, and any other premises upon which he has reason to believe waste has collected or been deposited or stored in such manner and in such quantities as to constitute a fire hazard. For such purpose he shall have the powers and perform the duties prescribed in the Alameda County waste disposal ordinance.

2.28.050 - Fish and game protection.¶
The director shall be ex officio fish and game warden and shall perform the duties prescribed by state law and ordinances not inconsistent therewith pertaining to enforcement of such laws and ordinances relating to the protection of fish and game. In the performance of the duties of the department prescribed in this section the director and deputies shall have the power of peace officers.

2.28.060 - Animal control.¶
The director and his designated employees shall enforce county ordinances and state laws pertaining to animal control in the unincorporated area of the county, and they are hereby authorized to make arrests for violations thereof in the manner provided by Penal Code Section 836.5.
