[F] 307.1 Grupo H de alto riesgo. La ocupación del Grupo H de alto riesgo incluye, entre otras, el uso de un edificio o estructura, o una parte del mismo, que implique la fabricación, procesamiento, generación o almacenamiento de materiales que constituyan un peligro físico o para la salud en cantidades que excedan las permitidas en áreas de control que cumplan con la Sección 414, basándose en los límites máximos permitidos para áreas de control establecidos en las Tablas 307.1(1) y 307.1(2). Las ocupaciones peligrosas se clasifican en los Grupos H-1, H-2, H-3, H-4 y H-5 y deberán cumplir con esta sección, los requisitos de la Sección 415 y el California Fire Code. Los materiales peligrosos almacenados o usados sobre techos o toldos se clasificarán como almacenamiento o uso en azoteas y deberán cumplir con el California Fire Code.

[F] 307.2 Materiales peligrosos. Los materiales peligrosos en cualquier cantidad deberán cumplir con los requisitos de este código, incluyendo la Sección 414 y el California Fire Code.

[F] 307.3.1 Ocupaciones que contienen explosivos no clasificados como H-1. Las siguientes ocupaciones que contienen materiales explosivos deberán clasificarse como sigue:
- Los materiales explosivos de la División 1.3 que se usen y mantengan en una forma donde ni el confinamiento ni la configuración eleven el riesgo de un incendio masivo a un riesgo de explosión masiva se permitirán en ocupaciones del Grupo H-2.
- Los materiales explosivos de la División 1.4 se permitirán en ocupaciones del Grupo H-3.

[F] 307.4 Grupo de alto riesgo H-2. Los edificios y estructuras que contengan materiales que representen un riesgo de deflagración o un riesgo por combustión acelerada deberán clasificarse como Grupo H-2. Tales materiales incluirán, pero no se limitarán a, los siguientes:
Líquidos inflamables o combustibles Clase I, II o IIIA que se usen o almacenen en recipientes o sistemas normalmente abiertos, o en recipientes o sistemas cerrados presurizados a más de 15 libras por pulgada cuadrada de presión manométrica (103.4 kPa).
Polvos combustibles donde se fabriquen, generen o usen de tal manera que la concentración y condiciones creen un riesgo de incendio o explosión basado en información preparada conforme a la Sección 414.1.3.
Fluidos criogénicos inflamables.
Gases inflamables Categoría 1A.
Gases inflamables Categoría 1B con una velocidad de combustión mayor a 3.9 pulgadas por segundo (10 cm/s).
Peróxidos orgánicos, Clase I.
Oxidantes, Clase 3, que se usen o almacenen en recipientes o sistemas normalmente abiertos, o en recipientes o sistemas cerrados presurizados a más de 15 libras por pulgada cuadrada de presión manométrica (103 kPa).
Líquidos, sólidos y gases pirofóricos, no detonables.
Materiales inestables (reactivos), Clase 3, no detonables.
Materiales reactivos al agua, Clase 3.
[F] 307.5 Grupo de alto riesgo H-3. Los edificios y estructuras que contengan materiales que soporten la combustión fácilmente o que representen un riesgo físico deberán clasificarse como Grupo H-3. Tales materiales incluirán, pero no se limitarán a, los siguientes:
Líquidos inflamables o combustibles Clase I, II o IIIA que se usen o almacenen en recipientes o sistemas normalmente cerrados presurizados a 15 libras por pulgada cuadrada de presión manométrica (103.4 kPa) o menos.
Fibras combustibles, distintas al algodón empacado densamente en pacas, donde se fabriquen, generen o usen de tal manera que la concentración y condiciones creen un riesgo de incendio o explosión basado en información preparada conforme a la Sección 414.1.3.
Fuegos artificiales de consumo, 1.4G (Clase C, Común).
Fluidos criogénicos oxidantes.
Gases inflamables Categoría 1B con una velocidad de combustión de 3.9 pulgadas por segundo (10 cm/s) o menos.
Sólidos inflamables.
Peróxidos orgánicos, Clases II y III.
Oxidantes, Clase 2.

[F] 307.6 Grupo de alto riesgo H-4. Los edificios y estructuras que contengan materiales que representen riesgos para la salud deberán clasificarse como Grupo H-4. Tales materiales incluirán, pero no se limitarán a, los siguientes:
Corrosivos.
Materiales altamente tóxicos.
Materiales tóxicos.
[F] 307.7 Grupo de alto riesgo H-5. Las instalaciones de fabricación de semiconductores y áreas comparables de investigación y desarrollo en las que se usen materiales de producción peligrosos (HPM, por sus siglas en inglés) y la cantidad agregada de materiales exceda las especificadas en las Tablas 307.1(1) y 307.1(2) deberán clasificarse como Grupo H-5. Tales instalaciones y áreas deberán diseñarse y construirse conforme a la Sección 415.11.
[F] 307.8 Riesgos múltiples. Los edificios y estructuras que contengan un material o materiales que representen riesgos clasificados en uno o más de los Grupos H-1, H-2, H-3 y H-4 deberán cumplir con los requisitos del código para cada una de las ocupaciones así clasificadas.
