Reimbursable Events

Internal Revenue Manual Part 6. Human Resources Management · 2026-10-03 edition · updated 2026-10-04 · United States

The total estimated cost projections for an event (before any reimbursement) must be approved in accordance with the thresholds established in TD 12- 70 policy. All costs to be paid with Treasury Department funds or by another government agency must be included in the total, namely:

Cost projections/overall budget

Amount of the conference approval request memo

Business units cannot reduce the estimated event costs by the amounts of any interagency or reimbursable agreements that have been entered. The only expenses that must not be included would be travel costs paid for by another agency for their employees to attend an event.
